Honoring the discoveries that enabled today’s GLP 1–based weight loss therapies

In 2026 the Broermann Medical innovation award will be jointly awarded to Prof. Dr. Richard DiMarchi, Prof. Svetlana Mojsov and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Matthias Tschöp for their groundbreaking work in the field of metabolic research. With their research, Mojsov, DiMarchi, and Tschöp have opened an entirely new chapter in metabolic therapy and laid the foundation for today’s weight-loss injections.

The Broermann Medical Innovation Award 2025 was jointly awarded to Prof. Dr. Carl June & Prof. Dr. Michel Sadelain for their innovative work, the development of the CAR-T cell therapy.
